FIRST IMPRESSION:JASHIN-CHAN DROPKICK

Jashin-chan Dropkick is a slapstick comedy from studio Nomad. The plot is as simple as is needed for a baseless comedy, a young girl Yurine summons a devil Jashin-chan , both of them now have to live together until Yurine finds a way to send Jashin-chan back or until Jashin-chan kills Yurine. The first episode was simply amazing , when just the opening made me chuckle , I was sure that I am in for a wild ride. It is a pleasant mixture of great animations, amazing voice acting and hillarious writing , there was never a dull moment while watching the first episode. None of the jokes were a miss and I found myself constantly chuckling and giggling while watching it , it also threw in some fourth wall breaking jokes which are always great to see.

Well , after hearing the plot , some of you may feel that the show might end up becoming stale as there is a high probability that they would run out of ideas for future episodes and to be honest the synopsis does kind of suggest that , but let me assure you that the synopsis is just a glimpse of the anime and after watching the first episode I felt that there is a lot of stuff that it does not give away , so I would urge everyone to atleast check out the first episode. Now , for anyone who hates ridiculous , over the top comedy and wants a real story , this might not be for you ( although I do suggest to still checkout the first episode ), but for anyone like me who just wants a good laugh , Jashin-chan Dropkick is a must watch. It is surely something that I would be following weekly and I hope that it gets the appreciation that it deserves.

Just a quick sidenote , I will not be doing a first impression blog on overlord season 3 as it is the third season and I am more inclined to do a full length discussion of the franchise as a whole, like I did for Yama no Susume.

Thanks a lot for reading , follow me on twitter @allaboutanimee for regular anime and manga recommendations , share the blog if possible and have a nice day.

MANGAKA SPOTLIGHT #1: TAISHI TSUTSUI

Today we will be taking a look at all the manga that Taishi Tsutsui has worked on , I will be talking about each one of them and comparing them as to showcase the journey that the mangaka has been through for the past decade. We will be starting with his first ever manga , Esprit. Esprit is a fantasy , action manga from Taishi Tsutsui , it is set in a world where numerous islands are called "homes" and people of a particular home have little to no knowledge about other homes. These homes are discovered and are kept in check by the agents of the "ocean affairs agency" , from here on I will be referring to these agents as OA agents (ocean affairs agents). These OA agents have certain powers called jinxes which stem from a person's faith. For example ,  if I believe with all my heart that I can cause weather changes then I will gain that power or jinx. The story follows an apprentice OA agent Mio and her friends' adventures , as they explore these hom...

ANIME REVIEW: GAKKOU GURASHI

Gakkou Gurashi is a slice of life, horror anime from studio Lerche and is based off of a manga with the same name. It follows four highschool girls Yuki, Miki, Kurumi, and Yuuri who along with their teacher, Sakura, are members of the School Living club which, as the name suggests, is a club whose members live in the school and are not allowed to leave the school grounds. Yuki absolutely loves the school and the club but is unaware of the harsh reality behind its creation. So, slice of life and horror, these are two genres which are pretty difficult to combine and thus tend to result in disappointments but at the same time, if executed well, can make a show highly entertaining. Thankfully in this case the genres are combined pretty well, the plot is unique and no matter how ridiculous it may seem at first glance, it works. The plot develops into a really enjoyable and immersive story, the slick animations and pleasant background score ensure a good time for the viewers. But th...
