MANGA DISCUSSION: DROPS OF GOD

Drops of god is a drama manga series illustrated by Shu Okimoto and completed its run in 2014. The manga follows Shizuku Kanzaki who is the son of a highly coveted wine expert Yutaka Kanzaki who started teaching him about wine from a very young age. Shizuku being a rebellious child started to hate wine and later on joined a beer company. The story starts with Shizuku recieving news that his father from whom he is estranged has passed away. He visits the family home to hear his father's will. In the will his father mentions that whoever will correctly identify thirteen wines known as the "twelve apostles" and the thirteenth known as the "drops of god" will inherit his legacy( wine collection). So he goes head to head against his adopted brother Issei Toomine who is a renowned wine critic in a bid to obtain his father's legacy. Being a hater of wine , Shizuku has never tasted any wine in his life but with his strong sense of smell and taste , he dives into the world of wines , with the help of Miyabi Shinohara who is a sommelier apprentice and quite knowledgeable when it comes to wine, he works towards identifying the wines in his father's will.

The plot is really interesting and the art is equally good. The way the characters talk about wine in extreme details is very fascinating , I was in awe at how many different aspects there are to judging a wine. The colour , smell , taste , viscosity , each and everything has something to say about the wine in question. The characters are well developed throughout the manga and their interactions feel coherent and real. The manga does a good job at explaining all aspects of a wine so that someone who knows nothing about them, like me, would also understand everything that's going on. The wine battles , where both the contestants talk about their views on a particular wine are highly entertaining to read , a bit like a shokugeki in food wars. So if you enjoyed the cooking battles in food wars you will surely enjoy these battles as well. And if you never read the manga or watched the anime of food wars then just trust me on the fact that you will enjoy this manga.

Overall it is a highly entertaining manga that I recommend to everyone and moreover it's only 34 chapters so it's a quick read.

Thank you everyone for reading , follow me on twitter @allaboutanimee for regular anime and manga recommendations and have a nice day.

MANGAKA SPOTLIGHT #1: TAISHI TSUTSUI

Today we will be taking a look at all the manga that Taishi Tsutsui has worked on , I will be talking about each one of them and comparing them as to showcase the journey that the mangaka has been through for the past decade. We will be starting with his first ever manga , Esprit. Esprit is a fantasy , action manga from Taishi Tsutsui , it is set in a world where numerous islands are called "homes" and people of a particular home have little to no knowledge about other homes. These homes are discovered and are kept in check by the agents of the "ocean affairs agency" , from here on I will be referring to these agents as OA agents (ocean affairs agents). These OA agents have certain powers called jinxes which stem from a person's faith. For example ,  if I believe with all my heart that I can cause weather changes then I will gain that power or jinx. The story follows an apprentice OA agent Mio and her friends' adventures , as they explore these hom
