FIRST LOOK: SWORD ART ONLINE: ALICIZATION

Sword art online: Alicization is the newest installment in the sword art online anime franchise. I guess everyone is well aware of this series, so I will not spend anytime giving a summary of it. SAO is one of the most debated shows in anime history, tons of people hate it while a good amount also love it. As far as my opinion is concerned, you can say that I stand on the side of those who hate it. Now, I am not gonna lie, I really liked the initial few episodes of the first season but then the anime just went downhill for me. I was actually thinking about skipping the new season but was convinced by the tweets of @AlwaysLethargic and decided to give it a go, and to be honest I thought that the first episode, although not perfect was pretty good.

The animations were once again really well done, and mixed with some pretty impressive visuals, the first episode was a treat for the eyes. As of now I have only seen one episode of the show and so I have only been graced with one action sequence so far and I have to say, it was pretty enjoyable. So everything that was good with the previous seasons is executed pretty well in this episode as well. But, once again I have the same problem that I had with the previous seasons, the writing. I have always felt that the writing for SAO could have been better and I got a similar feeling this time as well. I hope the writing improves in the future as it really takes a lot away from an otherwise good show.

Another problem that I have had from the previous seasons were the plot holes and I am hoping that this does not become an issue with this season as well. And another thing that I am hoping to see this season is the addition of some believable character traits for Kirito because that has been a major problem of the SAO franchise for me.

So, yeah the first episode of Alicization looked pretty promising and I hope that this season turns out to be something that changes my opinion about the SAO franchise.

And, just a quick sidenote, I am aware that recently I have not been posting a lot and that is because I have been working on the blog, my college assignments and my content writing internship simultaneously, so it has really been a hectic few months for me. All I am saying is that bare with me for a little more time and I will be returning to the original schedule.

Thank you everyone for reading , subscribe to the blog or follow me on twitter @allaboutanimee for updates on whatever I publish in the future. Share the blog if possible and have a nice day.

The following image taken from the webtoon "sweet home" will probably make it clear. MANGAKA SPOTLIGHT #1: TAISHI TSUTSUI

Today we will be taking a look at all the manga that Taishi Tsutsui has worked on , I will be talking about each one of them and comparing them as to showcase the journey that the mangaka has been through for the past decade. We will be starting with his first ever manga , Esprit. Esprit is a fantasy , action manga from Taishi Tsutsui , it is set in a world where numerous islands are called "homes" and people of a particular home have little to no knowledge about other homes. These homes are discovered and are kept in check by the agents of the "ocean affairs agency" , from here on I will be referring to these agents as OA agents (ocean affairs agents). These OA agents have certain powers called jinxes which stem from a person's faith. For example ,  if I believe with all my heart that I can cause weather changes then I will gain that power or jinx. The story follows an apprentice OA agent Mio and her friends' adventures , as they explore these hom...

ANIME REVIEW: GAKKOU GURASHI

Gakkou Gurashi is a slice of life, horror anime from studio Lerche and is based off of a manga with the same name. It follows four highschool girls Yuki, Miki, Kurumi, and Yuuri who along with their teacher, Sakura, are members of the School Living club which, as the name suggests, is a club whose members live in the school and are not allowed to leave the school grounds. Yuki absolutely loves the school and the club but is unaware of the harsh reality behind its creation. So, slice of life and horror, these are two genres which are pretty difficult to combine and thus tend to result in disappointments but at the same time, if executed well, can make a show highly entertaining. Thankfully in this case the genres are combined pretty well, the plot is unique and no matter how ridiculous it may seem at first glance, it works. The plot develops into a really enjoyable and immersive story, the slick animations and pleasant background score ensure a good time for the viewers. But th...
